Animated Journeys: On the Edge
We still need our screen journeys even if we are completely free to travel. Our inner demons, journeys into dangerous and sometimes despicable customs, or simply a journey back home are not always pleasant, but they are there for us to watch and learn.
How much do you have to pay to fulfill your dream, and become a dancer? What happens if you’re just a soldier obeying orders facing a non-orderly situation? Father and daughter relationships are constantly negotiated, and relationships over time are tested. Journeys take place in open spaces, like a monumental arch in an unknown capital or the road to a volcano; they also occur in closed spaces, like a prison cell, or an oppressive palace.
Nature is the catalyst for the events to occur, and art can be both a medicine and an obsession. These personal journeys are sweet and tough at the same time, can have their predictable course or let the character face the unknown. A slice of life itself, still told in an exciting way.
