East Meets West: The Pärns & Atsushi Wada

Festival
PÖFF Shorts 2024
Programme
Shorts Panorama

Veteran Estonian director Priit Pärn & Olga Pärn meet the Japanese animation director Atsushi Wada, one of the important voices in worldwide animation. The brand new film by the Estonian duo, 'Luna Rossa', a surveillance and rituals story set in Italy, faces Wada's 'Bird in the Peninsula', another story of rituals and (not) belonging. And it was our 2022 PÖFF Shorts International Animation Competition winner. Olga & Priit Pärn and Atsushi Wada will present their films (in person for Pärns, virtually for Wada) during the event.
