Science Fiction is a sometimes misunderstood genre. For some the be all and end all is sleek spaceships and laser battles. There’s nothing wrong with a good spaceship and a laser battle: but there’s so much more to discover. While our latest selection of Late Night Sci-Fi does indeed have some classic genre tropes – don’t worry spaceship fans – we also explore the human condition and discover the things that make humans want to explore. All our characters want to explore new worlds, and in discovering new places also find out more about themselves.

This year’s selection also finds itself with its tongue firmly in cheek with some of the films eschewing the usual po-faced seriousness that sci-fi films can often indulge in for something a lot more silly.

Just like there are more places in the universe to find, there are more ways to tell a sci-fi story. Come and discover the wild and varied ways in which people do so.
