What if film asked poetry for a dance? Whose step lead? Who would spin under whose arm? Which one would set the rhythm?

Poetry Shorts submerges you in the intimate dynamic between poetry and film, allowing the two to tell a story together. Their dance guides your gaze through themes of uprootedness, invasive desire, and our relationship with time—saying just enough while leaving space for your own mind to dance along. The last dance belongs to Allen Ginsberg and his birthday seen through the eyes of a contemporary artist whose name is no less known.

A brutalist “fairy tale”: In the cold clutches of the concrete office, modern humans collide with their own isolation. Absurd dialogues and forced closeness characterize the grotesque everyday life in which the boundaries between work and private life become blurred.

This poetry film captures an inner journey through obsession, loss, and liberation. At its heart lies the raw tension between female strength and vulnerability: a woman who cannot—and will not—detach herself from what has shattered her. Through surreal and symbolic imagery, the film immerses the viewer in her emotional intensity, unfolding like a dream on the edge of madness and release.

June 3, 1990. New York City.
On his 64th birthday, Allen Ginsberg gathers a handful of friends in his downtown's apartment. Among them, a young, unknown Chinese artist films the day. His name is Ai Weiwei. Nothing “historic” happens and yet, everything is there.
