Yes, we are barking mad: for the first time ever, Solaris Centre and the Black Nights’ short film and animation festival are inviting polite dogs of all ages to join us at the cinema with their polite companions.

In this special PÖFF Shorts screening, we are giving a four-legged ovation to man's best friend with heartfelt, humorous and thought-provoking animated films both about dogs and their loved ones.

REMINDER FOR GUESTS

Everyone is welcome to the special screening, with or without a dog.

To accommodate dogs, we sell tickets for every other seat.

Each guest is allowed to bring only one dog.

Please use cinema seats for guests with a maximum of two legs! If desired, you can freely take your dog on your lap.

The dog owner is responsible for ensuring that both they and their friend play nice with other viewers and keep the cinema and its seats clean.

Four short films will be shown during the screening, and you can leave the auditorium between the films if needed.

For a better experience for dogs, the films will be screened at a lower volume than usual, and the auditorium will not be completely darkened.

Feel free to contact cinema staff for any concerns or questions!

This short film is an original and surreal story about a Dachshund, who, enclosed in a wedding cake, bodes for the happiness of the young couple. The joyful disposition of the dog gives the mood to the animation, which in light and humorous way tackles the universal and significant in the present-day problem of the superficiality and ritualism of the most important moments and decisions in life.

Death of a beloved pet is a difficult thing to deal with, and even though we try to prepare for it, it always seems to come too soon. This is a story of a boy and his dog Dede, who passes away suddenly and the boy is left alone with his grief. In the end, he finds out that just because Dede is dead does not mean that she is completely gone.
