A total of 13 short dance films prove that you can dance pretty much anywhere.
"The films in the selection are aware of the space in which the body is placed, but also of the body space itself. There are both aesthetic environments and enjoyable movement," writes choreographer Arolin Raudva, who curated the collection.
The screening of Dance Films: Body Space hosts the world premiere of three films.
Canadian director Ilanna Barkusky's The Journey of the Flower (USA 2024) is a short meditation on growth and new beginnings, Valerijs Olehno Drama King (Latvia, 2024) is set in the corridors of an abandoned theatre building, and Rūta Ronja Pakalne's H61 (Latvia, 2024) is at once an apocalyptic and hopeful visual poem.
